Need health tips for this Sunday (kinda long but PLEASE read)?
I am the sacristan at my church. My job is to set up for Mass (church service) each Sunday. Well, this coming Sunday is Easter Sunday and we will have one more Mass, but I will have less time to set up.
Here is the schedule:
I arrive 6:30 AM
Mass at 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM
I have 30 minutes to set up.
Mass at 9:00 – 10:00 AM
I have 30 minutes to set up.
Mass at 10:30-11:30 AM
I have 30 minutes to set up.
Mass at Noon – 1:00 PM.
Normally I have one hour to set up. It takes about 10-20 minutes to set up and for Easter, MANY times do the Masses go over about 5-10 minutes.
Three of the Masses I have to altar server and one I have to give out communion. I will have 0 breaks during and between the Masses.
Here comes my question, is there any HEALTHY drinks and/or food I can eat while I set up for Mass?
I can’t eat meals or anything messy (no chips, etc) during the Masses so I was thinking if anyone knows of any granola bars that can give me enough energy to survive (LOL) and how often I should eat the granola bars. Also, anyone know any drinks that can also give me energy?
This is a serious question because I don’t want to buy and energy drinks or that 5 hour energy boost thing that is unhealthy.
Does anyone have any ideas?
If you need me to elaborate on anything, I will be here for a while.
Thanks all!
Effective Daily Health Tips
Boost Your Immune System –
The best defense against disease is a healthy immune system. There are countless ways to keep it in tip-top shape, so that your body is ready to defend itself from minor bugs and more serious illnesses. Here are some ways to do just that.
Sleep
We hear it time and again, yet most of us don’t get the 7 to 8 hours of solid sleep per night that our bodies require. Almost as importantly, we should try to go to bed and get up at approximately the same time every day. Having an established sleep pattern leaves us better rested, and allows our bodies’ various systems to complete their “maintenance” routines when they should.
Exercise
Exercise not only keeps our cardiovascular systems in shape, but it rids the body of toxins. It strengthens our muscles, as well as helping us to sleep better and fight the negative effects of stress on the immune system.
Foods
Daily health tips usually involve foods, and with good reason; they are our body’s fuel. Most of us know that we should drink eight glasses of water per day to flush out toxins and hydrate our bodies’ tissues. We should also eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, organic if possible, to supply the fiber, vitamins, and other nutrients we need. Organic foods have been shown to not only lack pesticide residue, but to be higher in nutritional content. Eating locally grown food is even better, since it’s been picked more recently. The fresher the food, the higher in vitamins and minerals it is. Eating as much raw produce as possible is beneficial, because many cooking methods like boiling and frying reduce the nutritional content of our food. Fresh garlic and onions are good additions to the diet, as they contain antiviral and antimicrobial properties to help ward off infection.
Controversial Ingredients
About 90% of the items on your grocery store’s shelves contain high fructose corn syrup, or similar corn byproducts. HFCS has been linked to obesity, since it appears to throw off the way that the body processes sugar. It’s found in most sodas and sweets, but also pops up in surprising places, like bread and fruit drinks.
MSG is another highly criticized ingredient. Although it occurs naturally in some foods, its processed form is thought to be an ingredient that makes foods, especially chips and other snack items, so addictive. It can cause headaches for some people.

I need Health Tips Please?
I am in the process of trying to become healthier, and I want to lose some inches. I do not eat a lot throughout the day, never have. I might reach 1000 Calories a day if even that and I exercise a decent amount. I could go hard core and do it more, which I probably will. But currently I have a friend who is trying to help me in this process and he says I need to eat breakfast so it will start my metabolism. I have a hard time eating in the mornings because it makes me sick at my stomach badly. Even if I drink in the mornings it makes me feel sick. I normally wait about 3 or 4 hours before I eat or drink any thing but I don’t think this is what I need. I ate breakfast today and it was a small bowl or original oatmeal with nothing it in. I like oatmeal and it settled with my stomach pretty good. Sugars make my stomach hurt, especially in the mornings. I have been eating healthy for lunch and dinner, but my friend tells me I might want to throw in some healthy snacks. I just don’t know what all is going on and I don’t understand all of this. Someone please give me some advice!

What are some good tips for healthy eating on the go?
I want as many new ideas as possible on how to eat healthy everyday – and on the go sometimes, too.
I already know about the obvious ones – carrots, celery, raisings, cut apples – but I don’t want to eat the same things every day.
All ideas are welcome.
For example – mung bean sprouts can be sprouted at home with little effort and they are a very complete form of nutrition – any other ideas???

I suffer from IBS so i tend to go toilet and have loose stools but then i get hungry so quick. Is there anyway i could control it. I never use to be like this? i was always slim and eating apples, but now its like i’m the opposite. Is there any way i could control it and have a better diet?
doctor’s haven’t given me a diet, they just said i have IBS thats it, didn’t even tell me how to control it with a specific diet, they just said don’t eat anything that your stomach can’t take
